Description – Cialis 80 mg Tablet relaxes the smooth muscles present in the wall of blood vessels and helps in increasing the flow of blood in certain specific areas of the body. It is used for the treatment of erection disorders, prostate gland enlargement and Pulmonary Hypertension (high blood pressure of blood vessels connecting the lungs and the heart). Cialis is a medication with potentially adverse side effects, thus this medication must be consumed only if prescribed by doctor as per their guidance.
MECHANISM
- Cialis increases blood flow to the penis which allows a man to achieve an erection.
- When a man is sexually stimulated, nitric oxide is released into the penis. Nitric oxide enables the production of cGMP, which controls the dilation and contraction of the blood vessels that carry blood to and from the penis.
- Another substance, PDE5, destroys cGMP. When this occurs, the blood vessels return to their normal size, and the erection ends. Tadalafil stops PDE5 from destroying cGMP. This causes the erection to last for longer.
- The muscles of the arteries in the walls of the lungs also contain PDE5, which is why the same drug can also help with pulmonary hypertension treatment.
DOSAGE
- Cialis comes in a yellow film-coated and almond shaped tablets in 5, 10 and 20 miligrams (mg) dosage.
- Patients with erectile dysfunction can consume as needed, but it should not be more than once per day.
- A first dose of 10 mg should be taken 30 minutes before sexual activity, dosage can then be adjusted according to individual body response.
